Executive Director
Founder and Executive Director, Honore Fila, has over 25 years of teaching and counseling experience. She holds a Master's of Education degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an Educational Therapist Certificate from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

American Centers for Learning started as a community learning center in 1989, and are independently owned and operated. Our staff consists of dedicated, skilled, and experienced teachers who are devoted to promoting academic success for all students.
We believe every student can learn, given appropriate support and skills. Building our students' skills and confidence is of vital concern to our staff, and we work closely with students and their teachers in order to maximize the application of what the student learns in our programs to what they do in school.
Our methodology involves programs that have been proven to effectively develop skills using an individualized plan for each student. We work closely with educational psychologists, Dr. Janet Bernabo and Dr. Charles Hogan (www.psychcoach.com).
Collectively, we belong to and support many professional organizations such as the International Reading Association, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, International Dyslexia Association and Learning Disability Association.
